a year ago, i was in montreal and toronto for spring break. but this year im rooted in seattle because my main agenda for the year would take place in the coming summer (:
anyways, i finally went to bainbridge island and tried the famous mora ice cream. it was expensive (by my standards of course) but i have such a HUGE sweet tooth that saying no to ice cream made me felt as if i have just sinned.
i also tried baking some cheat one egg tarts. they turned out to be more like the portuguese egg tart kind, complete with a wrinkled surface but sweet in the inside. i might be baking some again before spring quarter begins (: and earlier today, i made some cheat one loh mai kai and some cheat one fried chicken.
and whats so special about this cheat one loh mai kai and cheat one fried chicken?
well, rather than using glutinous rice for the loh mai kai, i used normal jasmine rice instead. and i also opted out the dark soy sauce to give the cheat one loh mai kai a fairer complexion, haha. as for the cheat one fried chicken...i coated my chicken pieces with corn flour...i know it sounded weird, but the cheat ones are still edible :D
and and and....i triggered the fire detector in my apartment and i was gobsmacked...in a paranoid way lol. thankfully the annoying beeping was subdued within 5 minutes. else, i would have cried like a baby because i was alone at home =/
but whatever. im still gonna cook more food. hahaha. in fact, im planning to make some basic crepes and okonomiyaki. maybe pa-jeon too. now if only i could get my hands on some all purpose flour...
also, after almost a year not playing badminton, i picked up the racket again....only to sprain my ankle

and its now swollen. le sigh. why does this happen each time i decided to play some ball sports??
